Terms of use

By using Adams County 911 you accept the terms below. The most important one is the first: this is not an emergency service and nobody is monitoring it.

This is not an emergency service

In an emergency, call 911. This website is unattended. Nothing you do here — loading a page, reading an incident, sending an email — reaches a dispatcher, a responder, or anyone who can help. Do not use this site to report an emergency, to confirm that help is coming, or to decide whether to call for help.

Not an official county service

Adams County 911 is an independent, volunteer-run project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by Adams County government or the Adams County Department of Emergency Services, and it does not speak for any fire company, ambulance service, or police department. It shares a name with the county’s emergency communications function only because that is the subject of the data.

The authoritative version of this information is the county’s own incident page. Where this site and the county disagree, the county is correct.

The data is provided as-is

Incident information is republished automatically from a public county page, without review. It may be delayed, incomplete, truncated, misclassified, or wrong. Calls may be missing entirely. The Fire, EMS, Traffic, Police, and Other groupings are this site’s own and are not official classifications. Map circles show a municipality, never an address, and must not be read as the location of an incident.

The site is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. It may be unavailable, out of date, or discontinued at any time without notice.

Do not rely on it for decisions that matter

You are responsible for how you use what you read here. Do not use this site as the basis for emergency, medical, legal, financial, employment, insurance, tenancy, or travel decisions, or as evidence about any person, address, or event. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site.

About the people involved in incidents

Dispatch data concerns real people having bad days. The county publishes no addresses and no names, and this site does not attempt to recover them. Do not use this site to identify, locate, surveil, contact, or harass anyone, and do not treat the presence of a call as an accusation, a diagnosis, or a fact about anybody. Do not interfere with, obstruct, or travel to an active incident scene.

Acceptable use

You may read this site, link to it, and share what you find. You may not:

  • scrape, crawl, or automate requests at a rate that burdens this site or the county page behind it;
  • republish the data in a way that implies it is official or endorsed;
  • attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
  • use the site in violation of any applicable law, or to build a product that identifies individuals from dispatch data.

If you want the underlying data programmatically, take it from the county source rather than from this site, and respect whatever terms the county applies.

Third-party content and links

This site links to county pages, scanner audio hosted by Broadcastify, and other external resources, and it displays advertising supplied by Google. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it. Following an external link puts you under that provider’s terms and privacy policy.

Advertising

The site is free and is funded by advertising. Ads are selected and served by Google, not by us, and their presence is not an endorsement. Advertising does not affect which incidents appear or how they are presented.

Intellectual property

The underlying dispatch information is public county data. Municipality boundary data is derived from US Census Bureau TIGERweb data, which is in the public domain. Map basemaps are supplied by CARTO using OpenStreetMap data, and their attribution must remain visible. The design, code, and written explanations on this site are ours.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change; the date at the top of the page will change with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
